Transform

The Clario Transform node is used to do the following:

  • create new attributes
  • copy attributes
  • remove attributes
  • transform attributes
  • reorder attributes
  • rename attributes

The above tasks can be done by using the Code Editor or by using the Expression Builder and its intrinsic Functions, Operators, and Constants.

Configuration

../../_images/transform_configurationTab.png

The configuration tab displays Incoming Attributes on the left and Outgoing Attributes on the right. To keep attributes from the incoming data stream, drag and drop one or more of them from the Incoming Attributes field to Outgoing Attributes.

To create a new attribute, click [New] at the bottom of the Outgoing Attributes list. Enter a name in the resulting dialog, select a type, and click [Create] to open the Expression Builder. Attribute names may only consist of the following characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, ‘-‘, and ‘_’.

To copy outgoing attributes, select one or more attributes and click the [Copy] button. Copied attributes will appear at the bottom of the Outgoing Attributes list.

To remove attributes from the outgoing stream, select one or more attributes (selected attributes will be highlighted in green) and press the [Delete] key.

To transform an attribute, double-click the attribute in the Outgoing Attributes list to open the Expression Builder or click [Edit Code] to open the Code Editor.

To reorder attributes, select and drag them to a new position in the Outgoing Attributes list.

To rename an attribute, open the Expression Builder and edit the value in the Name field.

Attributes highlighted with a blue background indicate a transformation. When an attribute in the Outgoing Attributes field is selected, a line is drawn connecting the attribute to the incoming attributes used in the underlying transformation.

Results

Transform node results will only be in Atrium if there is a warning. Transform warnings occur when an expression creates a null. Select an attribute in the Warning Summary table to explore the selected attribute’s detailed examples of what produced the warnings in the Detailed Examples table, including the operation and arguments involved.

Output Stream

The data stream sent to the Transform node’s outgoing connector contains the attributes displayed in the Outgoing Attributes list in the order they appear.
