Workflow Node

The Clario Workflow Node is used to execute a workflow within a Job.

Configuration

Select A Workflow

../../_images/workflowNode_selectAWorkflow.png

Select a workflow by clicking [...], which launches the Select a Workflow dialog. Choose the desired workflow from the list and click [Select]. Only workflows within the current project are available.

Choose Constant Source

Choose a Constant Source to set overrides for one or more UDFs.

  • Table Source (default): Allows user to specify overrides for a single submission or use existing constant values
  • File Source: Allows user to specify overrides for one or more submissions via an iteration constants file

Note

Only constant UDFs can be overridden.

Table Source

The Constants table displays all the constant UDFs, along with their type and current value.

To override the value of a UDF constant, double-click the desired constant and specify the override value in the Edit Constant dialog.

../../_images/workflowNode_editConstantDialog.png

Click [Save] when you are finished or [Cancel] to exit the editing process. The new value of the constant will be displayed in the Override column in the configuration and will be highlighted in blue. Constant overrides will only affect the Workflow Node that you are configuring.

If no override is specified for a given UDF constant, it will use the existing value.

To remove an override, highlight the row in the Constants table, and hit the [Delete] key on the keyboard.

File Source

The file source option allows one to consolidate multiple workflow submissions into a single workflow node via a delimited constants file.

../../_images/workflowNode_selectFile.png

Select a file by clicking [Select], which launches the File Browser. Select the desired file from the list and click [OK].

File Format

The first row represents the constant UDF names followed by their respective types (S - string, N - number, D - date) in the second row. All additional rows represent override values for a single iteration. Acceptable delimiters are comma, semi-colon, pipe, double pipe, and tab.

The file is shaped like this:

Row1: <Name of UDF 1>, … , <Name of UDF X>
Row2: <Type of UDF 1>, … , <Type of UDF X>
Row3: <First Value of UDF 1>, … , <First Value of UDF X>
           … , … , …
RowN: <Nth Value of UDF 1>, … , <Nth Value of UDF X>

Example File:

Group,Recency
N,S
1,0-12
1,13-36
2,0-12
2,13-36

Note

Only the UDF constants whose values are being overridden need to be included in the file. UDF constants that are not included in the Constants file will use their existing values.

Constant Overrides for Step 2A Workflow:

../../_images/workflowNode_tableOverrides.png

Instead of changing the overrides for Group and Recency in each of Step 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2D workflow nodes, create a single file with the override values.

Group,Recency
N,S
1,0-12
1,13-36
2,0-12
2,13-36

Note

Only Group and Recency change, so they are the only UDFs in the file.

Node Statistics

The Job Run Statistics displays one row for every iteration of a workflow. If a workflow node uses a File Source, the Iteration column denotes the order that the overrides appear in the Constants File.
