Data Stream

  • Rows of data moving in packets along links.

Flow-based Programming

  • A type of programming model involving data streams which enter and leave black boxes which operate on the data.

Job

  • An arrangement of workflows, connected by links.

Links

  • The graphical representation of the data stream connecting two nodes.

Nodes

  • The building blocks of workflows, which perform a distinct task as they operate on a data stream.

Perspective

  • A component of the User Interface that consists of Workflows, Runs, and Results.

Project

  • A navigation level where related jobs and workflows are created.

Result

  • Tables, graphs, matrices, etc. produced by a Run that completes with either SUCCESS or FAILURE.

Run

  • A workflow that has been submitted becomes a run.

Shared Files

  • Where files are stored when initially uploaded via SFTP.

SFTP

  • A method of transferring files securely. Three examples of SFTP clients are Filezilla, CuteFTP, and WinSCP.

Workflow

  • An arrangement of nodes, connected by links.
