Workbench OverviewΒΆ

The Workbench user interface employs a flow-based programming model which allows you to easily create workflows and jobs for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and numerous other operations. Workflows are comprised of data streams and nodes; they are created by reading files in and arranging and configuring nodes on the canvas to create a reusable operation. Jobs are also comprised of nodes, but are used to sequence or run multiple workflows in parallel. Once created, workflows and jobs are submitted for processing. Once the engine has completed processing, results are published in the form of runs. Workflows, jobs, and runs are persisted until deleted: a feature that is very useful when a workflow or job is used frequently or is highly complex.

The Clario User Interface (UI) is divided into three main components:

  • Perspectives
    • This area makes up the largest portion of the Clario UI and is where the workflows, jobs, runs, and results are displayed in a tabbed format.
    • Each open workflow, job, run, and/or result will be displayed in its own tab.
  • Status Bar
    • The Status Bar displays different statuses in the lower left corner of the user interface. Status updates are specific to Workflow Run States or Job Run States.
    • Other application activity status updates will appear in the status bar as well.
